You can switch between 1st person and 3rd person views at will. The 3rd person view is the best, at least for casters. It makes targeting a breeze.
The graphics are amazing.
Almost no zoning. It's a beautiful thing.
You can zoom and rotate your camera angle to any position.
You can send/receive tells in any mode of chat. You can also filter them, using the chat tabs. DAoC also has group chat that let's you create a group chat. I've used this several times to link up 2 or 3 groups.
Group exp in DAoC is shared between groups. That's right; two groups fighting the same monster will share the exp.
Auto-loot. Loot is automatically divided between the players. Everyone will get a copy of any quest items that drop. If you have 8 in your group, you get 8 copies of the item.
No NO-DROP items. That's right, no NO-DROP items. Instead, you can only use equipment that's in your level.
Your equipment decays as you use it. You can get it fixed or repaired, but eventually, you'll need to buy a new one.
The trade skills are awesome. Player made equipment is better and cheaper than store bought equipment. Also, you can make money by making items for NPC and selling them to them.
The magic system is incredible. You get to train, choose a path, and customize your skills as you like. Two 10th level Runemasters could be at completely different. No more saying well, we already have one of that class... You don't have to buy spells, or pay outrages sums of money for them from other people, you get them when you level and when you train.
You don't memorize your spells. You can have as many spells in your quickbars as you want. I've got one for DD's and one for buffs and rebuffs. I've got a total of 14 spells in my quickbars now.
You don't have a corpse. When you die, you come back with all your gear. You don't have to 'fix' your spells.
The binding is a slash command, /bind. Anyone can do it, at any level as long as they are at a bind stone. No more running around /ooc Can I get a bind???
No /shout, /ooc, etc... The only exception is in the cities. Each city is like a bazaar. It's extremely refreshing not to have your screen spammed with nonsense.
It's EASY to find a group. Set yourself as available, or if you in a group, set a flag indicating what kind of group member you want.
