puffin sea bird | |
A small black and white sea bird with a colorful bill tries to swallow a fish. | |
The puffin is a close relative to the razor-billed auk, and is in fact a member of the same family of water fowl. A peculiar flat, triangle shaped bill is the bird's most striking feature. The bird is black on the back and white on the belly, but its bill is a brilliant combination of red, yellow, and blue-grey. A puffin is in an excellent condition.
