pilgrim woman pauper | |
An impoverished woman makes the climb up the mountain trail.
Poverty is defined in the malnourished frame of this older woman. She has taken several sacks of plain burlap and sewn them together into the garb that she wears about her body. Her shoes are simple hide leather, fashioned by using a gimlet to bore the holes and lacing them together with dried sinew from animal muscles. A woman on a pilgrimage is in an excellent condition.
